The Norwegian Association in Athens was founded in 1994 by Norwegians with permanent residence in Greece. Except of being of some practical use to newcomers in the Attica-area, our goal is to keep Norwegian tradition and culture alive as best we can under the Mediterranean sun. The church which is located in beautiful Piraiki serves the whole Scandinavian community. The "Norwegian Institute at Athens for Classical Studies, Archaeology and Cultural History" was inaugurated on May 8, 1989, becoming the fourteenth "Foreign School of Archaeology".
